98 medical teams formed in Bhola to ensure healthcare during 'Mocha'

BHOLA, May 12, 2023 (BSS) - The Civil Surgeon Office of the district has

formed 98 medical teams to ensure the healthcare of common people when the
cyclone 'Mocha' hits here.

A total of four health workers will work in each team and the teams will
provide emergency health care, including the provision of medicine, to the
victims during and after the disaster, Civil Surgeon of the district Dr. KM
Shafikuzzaman said.

Besides, 180 vials of antivenom have been kept in stock by the health
department for the patients bitten by snakes during the period, he said.

Among the teams, one has been formed in Civil Surgeon Office, five in Sadar
Hospital, 16 in Sadar upazila, 8 in Tajumuddin upazila, 12 in Borhanuddin
upazila, 12 in Lalmohan upazila, 13 in Daulatkhan upazila, five in Manpura
upazila and 26 have been formed in Charfashion upazila of the district, the
Civil Surgeon mentioned.

"These medical teams will be operated their services from the beginning of
the disaster 'Mocha'," he said, adding that the health workers will work in
the union-level medical teams while the doctors will work in the upazila-
level teams.

To deal with 'Mocha', 218 community clinics including Bhola 250-bed General
Hospital, 20 Union Health Centers, six Upazila Health Complexes, Khair Hat
30-bed and Dakshin Aicha 20-bed Hospitals have been instructed to provide
round-the-clock medical services, he continued.

The health department is on high alert, the Civil Surgeon added.
