NETRAKONA May 21, 2023 (BSS) - Education Minister Dipu Moni today underlined the need for concerted efforts of all, including students, teachers and parents to build the country as smart as well as a developed one.
She said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is putting her best efforts into building the country as secular and smart, which will be hunger and poverty free."
She also called upon all to cast their votes in favour of "boat", the election symbol of the Awami League (AL), in the upcoming general election to continue the current development spree of the country.
Dr Dipu Moni said this while addressing as the chief guest at a discussion held on Sheikh Hasina University campus here.
The discussion was organised, marking the founding anniversary of the university.
Chaired by vice chancellor of Sheikh Hasina university professor Dr. Golam Kabir, the discussion was addressed, among others, by deputy minister for education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, cultural affairs secretary of Bangladesh Awami League (AL) Asim Kumar Ukil, MP, Habiba Rahman Khan Shefali, MP, vice chancellor of National University professor Dr Moshiur Rahman, former senior secretary of prime minister's office Sajjadul Hasan, additional secretary of ministry of education Anis Mahmud, chairman of Netrakona zila parishad Asit Kumar Sarker Sazal, president of Awami League (AL) Netrakona district unit Advocate Amirul Islam and general secretary of AL Netrakona district unit Advocate Shamsur Rahman Liton.
Later, the education minister and also the joint general secretary of AL central committee visited Netrakona district AL office located in the Chhoto Bazar area and formally inaugurated a library there.
Then, she talked with the AL workers and leaders and inquired about the organisational activities.
The education minister also addressed an assembly of students, teachers and guardians at Netrakona Government College ground as the chief guest.
Deputy minister for education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury also addressed there as a special guest with principal of the college professor Nurul Baset in the chair.
