DHAKA, May 30, 2023 (BSS) - The parliament secretariat commission today approved a proposed budget estimation of Taka 337.60 crore for parliament for operation and development sectors for the next fiscal year of 2023-24.

The approval was given at the 34th meeting of the commission held at the
Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair, said a press release.

The commission also revised the budget on operation and development sectors for the outgoing fiscal of Taka 308 crore 18 lakh 66 thousand.
Commission member Prime Minister and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina joined the meeting.

Besides, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Opposition Leader of the House Begum Rowshan Ershad and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs
Minister Anisul Huq also joined it. 

Chief whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury attended the meeting on special invitation.

Parliament Secretariat's Senior Secretary KM Abdus Salam placed the agenda of the meeting, while the high officials concerned were also present.

The commission also approved budget projection of Taka 361.23 crore for the fiscal year of 2024-25 and Taka 386.52 crore for fiscal year of 2025-26.

At the outset of the meeting, proceedings of the 33rd meeting of the commission were ensured while implementation and progress of the decisions taken earlier were also discussed.

Besides, progress of the ongoing projects of Parliament Secretariat was also discussed.
