DHAKA, June 16, 2023 (BSS) - A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed
between Bangladesh Open University (BOU) and Pabna University of Science and
Technology (PUST) aimed at promoting mutual collaboration and cooperation in
research and academic programmes.
The MoU will also cover sharing of resources and opportunities of the both
universities to let the students improve their quality which will ultimately
expand their knowledge in educational research, said a press release.
The Mou was signed on Thursday at a function, chaired by Eminent geologist
and natural hazard researcher and BOU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Syed
Humayun Akhter at BOU's conference hall. BOU register Dr Mohammad Shafiqul
Alam and PUST register Bijon Kumar Brahma signed the MoU on behalf of their
respective universities.
While addressing BOU VC Dr Syed Humayun said by the experience and sharing of
resources of both institutions as well as by the use of BOU's media, ICT
unit, virtual and online classrooms, the students will be able to improve
their quality and expand their knowledge in the field of educational
research.
It is possible to reach the goal through mutual coordination, compromise,
partnership, avoiding the path of single-mindedness, said Humayun, adding,
"Bangladesh Open University has been working to contribute in building Smart
Bangladesh using this vow".
PUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Hafiza Khatun termed the agreement as a
milestone and hoped for everyone's cooperation in implementing Vision 2041
through research and knowledge creation by utilizing the resources of the two
universities.
BOU Pro-VC (Administration) Professor Dr Nasim Banu, Pro-VC (Education) Dr.
Mahbuba Nasreen and PUST Pro-VC Dr SM Mostafa Kamal Khan, among others, were
present on the occasion.
