DHAKA, June 19, 2023 (BSS) - Speakers at a workshop on ‘Facilitate Digital Government through Government Infrastructure’ today called upon organizations to use reliable and quality cloud services of National Data Center (NDC) to save operational cost and investment for IT infrastructure.

To choose, manage and operate data center infrastructure for their application for the government organizations are cost effective and difficult, rather (organizations) they should focus on their core business by not investing in IT infrastructure, they said.  

Organized by the World Bank financed Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) Project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) at BCC auditorium, the function was addressed, among others by, Executive Director of BCC Ranjit Kumar, EDGE Project Director Nahid Sultana Mallik, Director NDC and Director (Policy, Planning and Strategy) of BCC Md. Abu Sayed.

Deputy Project Director of EDGE Engineer Mohammad Saiful Alam Khan chaired the function while architect (Enterprise and Data Center) of BCC Hasan Uj Jaman, presented a keynote paper on Facilitate Digital Government through Government Infrastructure.
“The government organizations can use cloud services of NDC as it (NDC) is providing diversified and reliable cloud services for its customers,” said Ranjit Kumar. 

He said the use of cloud services from NDC will help government organizations to reduce cost of operations as well as investment in IT infrastructure. 
 
Nahid Sultana Mallik said in line with the implementation of e-government, the EDGE project has taken initiative to strengthened National Data Center. 
 
A shared and coordinated cloud platform is being developed to provide better cloud services, she said adding that cloud based infrastructure and software platform are also being established to enhance investment skill and making the existing Bangladesh National Digital Enterprise Architecture (BNDA) befitting to the private sector.
  
In his keynote paper, Hasan Uj Jaman said NDC is dedicated to provide data center services seamlessly with greater simplicity and reliability, so that organizations can really focus their core business rather than investing their resources into IT infrastructure.
