Taposh requests city dwellers to complete animal sacrifice within 2 days of Eid

 
DHAKA, June 21, 2023 (BSS) - Dhaka South City Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh today urged the city dwellers to complete slaughtering of their sacrificial animals within the second day of Eid-ul-Azha.
 
"I would humbly request you to complete slaughtering of your sacrificial animal within the first two days of Eid," said Taposh while talking to journalists after inaugurating the Interim Waste Transfer Centre of Khilgaon Railway Kitchen Market in Ward 11.
 
He said after working to remove the garbage of sacrificial animals from Dhaka city, the workers should get the opportunity to rest and enjoy the festival with their families.
 
"To keep the city clean, the corporation workers will work 72 hours without any break to remove the garbage from different parts of the city, including the cattle markets. So, they should be given the opportunity to rest and enjoy the festival with their families," he added. 
 
He said Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has almost completed its preparation to remove garbage of sacrificial animals from the city within 24-hour on Eid day.
  
About prevention of the spread of Aedes mosquito menace, the mayor said the corporation is aware of its responsibilities. Last year, DSCC successfully prevented the spread of Aedes mosquitoes, he said, adding that DSCC has all the preparations, capabilities, and plans to face the situation.
 
DSCC Secretary Akramuzzaman and other top officials were present on the occasion.
