DHAKA, June 30, 2023 (BSS) - Jatiya Party (JP) co-chairman and Dhaka-4 lawmaker Syed Abu Hossain Babla received injuries in his right hand and neck as a pickup van hit his vehicle in Postogola area of Shyampur this afternoon.

His party leaders immediately took him to Asgar Ali Hospital, Babla's press and political secretary Sujon Dey said.
 
After first aid, doctors suggested him for a seven-day bed rest, he said.

Police said the accident occurred around 3pm when Babla was returning to his Gulshan residence after distributing meats of sacrificial cattle among the people of his constituency in Shyampur area.

Driver of the pickup van and his assistance have been arrested from Sirajdikhan area.

A legal process is underway in the incident, police said.

Receiving the accident's news, Awami League lawmaker from Dhaka-5 seat Kazi Monirul Islam Manu rushed to the hospital.
