DHAKA, July 6, 2023 (BSS) - Central Hospital authorities today filed a defamation case against Professor Dr Sangjukta Saha, demanding Taka 500 crore for her alleged offensive statements against the establishment.

Supreme Court lawyer Shah Manjurul Haque filed the case on behalf of the hospital with Dhaka First Joint District Judge.

According to the case documents, the hospital authorities on June 22 sent legal notice to Prof Saha, demanding to withdraw her 'false and confusing statement' regarding the treatment of one Mahbuba Rahman Ankhi and her newborn.

The hospital authorities alleged that Prof Saha held a press briefing at her home, without the consent of the hospital, which has tarnished reputation and brand of it.
