DHAKA, July 11, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) President and Prime Minister 
Sheikh Hasina today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of 
ruling Awami League lawmaker from Netrokona-4 constituency Rebecca Momin. 

In a condolence message, the premier prayed for eternal peace of the departed 
soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, according to a press 
release, signed by AL office secretary Barrister Biplab Barua. 

She was 76. 

Rebecca Momin, wife of former AL Presidium Member and ex-Food Minister Abdul 
Momin, breathed her last at about 4.30am today while undergoing treatment at 
Square Hospitals Ltd in Dhaka.

She left behind her daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers and 
political admirers to mourn her death.
