DHAKA, July 18, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) today started selling nomination form among the aspirants to get the party ticket to contest in the by-elections to Netrokona-4.

AL's Information and Research Subcommittee Member and former senior secretary of the government Sajjadul Hasan collated the nomination form from AL President Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi political office in the city.

The aspirants could collect and submit the nomination form from 11am to 5pm by tomorrow.
 
Aspirants will have to collect and submit form individually or through an able representative of the aspirant without making gathering of people.
Aspirants must have to keep his or her national identity (NID card while collecting form. Form must be submitted by 5pm tomorrow.

After collecting nomination paper, Sajjadul Hasan said his father Akhlakul Hossain was a close associate of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

"Bangabandhu nominated my father for contesting in the 1970 election from Mohanganj and Barhatta constituency and he (Akhlakul) was also elected Provincial Assembly Member," he added.

The Netrokona-4 fell vacant following the death of lawmaker Rebecca Momin on July 11.

According to the election schedule declared by the Election Commission, the aspirants could collect and submit nomination form till July 24.

The nomination papers will be scrutinized on July 25 while the aspirants could withdraw their candidatures by July 31.
 
The election will be held from 8am to 4pm using ballot papers on September 2.
