DHAKA, July 18, 2023 (BSS) - The 20th death anniversary of journalist and language movement veteran Mizanur Rahman will be observed tomorrow.
To mark the anniversary, milad mahfil and discussion will be arranged in Dhaka and Gazipur.
Journalist Mizanur Rahman Memorial Council will arrange a milad mahfil at the office of Gazipur Union of Journalist (GUJ) after Asr prayers while doa mahfil will also be arranged by the family of the journalist.
Mizanur Rahman died of old-age complications on July 19 in 2003. Before his death, he retired from the post of commercial editor at the national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
Earlier, he served different important positions including chief reporter at the daily Ittefaq and chief editor of Bangladesh Press International (BPI).
In his career, he worked for the welfare of the country getting affection from Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani and Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq.
During his student life at Dhaka College, he served different positions in Dhaka district unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League.
