DHAKA, July 22, 2023 (BSS) - State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has said the use of biofuels will have to be increased to build a clean and green world. 

"Bio-fuel gives a sustainable strategy solution to reduce the impact of climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Biofuels will be the base of sustainable and secured energy management for the next generation. It will also contribute effectively to ensure energy security," he said.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Global Biofuels Alliance in Goa, India. 

Nasrul Hamid said Bangladesh has ratified the Global Biofuels Alliance. Bangladesh will continue with the organization with a positive attitude.

"The Global Bio-fuels Alliance will facilitate cooperation and sustainable biofuels in energy consumption, especially for the transport sector. The main task for the Global Biofuels will be to strengthen the market system and ensure facilitating global biofuels trade and technical assistance for energy programmes," he said. 
 
India's Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Secretary of Energy of the United States Jennifer Mulhern Granholm, Brazil's Minister of Mines and Energy Alexandre Silvera d Oliveira, Italian Environment and Energy Security Affairs Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin and UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei spoke the event, among others.
