DHAKA, July 24, 2023 (BSS) - The government has extended the contractual service term of President's press secretary Joynal Abedin for another next six months and 29 days.
 
The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification today in this regard.

As per the notification, his extended service term would come into effect on July 11, 2023 and he will serve the same post with existing benefits till February 10, 2024.
Joynal was made press secretary to the President on June 8, 2015 and later appointed press secretary on April 8, 2019. 

Earlier on January 4 in 2023, Joynal Abedin got reappointment as the President's press secretary for the six months on contractual basis.

Abedin, an officer of BCS Information Cadre of 1984 batch, discharged his duties in various important government posts, including Principal Information Officer (PIO) of the government, during his long service life.
