DHAKA, Aug 27, 2021 (BSS) - President M Abdul Hamid today expressed

profound shock and sorrow at the death of former Awami League lawmaker
from Kishoreganj-3 constituency Dr Mizanul Haque.

  In a condolence message, the head of the state prayed for eternal
peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved
family.

   Dr Mizanul Haque, 76, breathed his last at Shaheed Syed Nazrul
Islam Medical College Hospital in Kishoreganj at 6 pm today.

  He left behind his wife, two sons, a daughter, relatives and
well-wishers to mourn his death. He had been suffering from various
complexities including diabetes and kidney problems for a long time.

  He was admitted to the hospital following deterioration of his
condition two weeks earlier, family source said.

  He was elected Member of Parliament from Kishoreganj-3
(Karimganj-Tarail) constituency from the ticket of ruling Awami League
in 1991 and 1996.
