CHATTOGRAM, July 28, 2023 (BSS) - The electoral campaign in the Chattogram-10 by-polls is ending formally at midnight tonight and the voting is scheduled to take place on Sunday.
Public holiday has been declared in the constituency for the voting day.
"The voting will take place through 1,261 polling booths in 156 centres. Starting from 8am, the voting will go on till 4pm though Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). We have kept a total of 2,110 EVMs all set for the voting," returning officer and Chattogram Regional Polling Officer Mohammad Hasanuzzaman told BSS.
A total of 4,106 officials will observe their duties as police officials, while eight executive magistrates and two judicial magistrates will be on the field from July 29 to August 1.
The Parliament Secretariat declared Chattogram-10 constituency (Double Mooring-Halishahar-Khulshi-Katalganj) vacant following the demise of Awami League lawmaker Afsarul Amin.
