DHAKA, Aug 2, 2023 (BSS) -Agriculture Minister and Awami League (AL)
Presidium Member Dr Mohammad Abdur Razzaque today said that the country's
agricultural sector has achieved amazing success due to the magic of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina's leadership.

"The country's agricultural sector has achieved amazing success through the
magic of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's leadership. This has been possible
due to the premier's agri-friendly policy giving top priority to
agriculture," he said.

The minister said these while addressing a round table meeting titled
'Climate Adaptation: Prospects for the Development of Agricultural Industries
in Bangladesh' at a city hotel as the chief guest, a press release said.

The event was organized by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in
collaboration with Food and Agriculture Organization and Standard Chartered
Bank.

"Bangladesh was once known in the world as a country of food shortage. This
food shortage had to be met by imports and aid from abroad. And the country
is now self-sufficient in food grains and surplus in many crops," Razzaque
said.

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin spoke on the
occasion as special guest.

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Ruhul Amin Talukder
presented the main article in the event.
