RAJSHAHI, Aug 10, 2023 (BSS) - A seminar on health science was held at Rajshahi University (RU) aimed at expanding and studying on the issue of protecting public health from all sorts of risks and vulnerabilities.

RU Institute of Biological Sciences (IBSc) organized the seminar at its conference hall with in-depth discussions and recommendations by a large number of scientists, researchers and academics.  

Vice-chancellor (VC) of the university Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar addressed the seminar as chief guest while IBSc Director Prof Jahanara Khanom was in the chair.

Prof Ali Reza from the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Prof Khaled Hossain from the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology and Prof Ariful Haque from the IBSc illustrated the aspects of research and studies on the health sciences.
 
In his remarks, VC Prof Golam Sabbir said there are urgent needs of research and studies on different fields of medical science side by side with different branches of bioscience.

Thereby, possible ways of identifying causes of various diseases and various other health problems along with solutions of those will come.

More information about other deadly diseases, particularly Covid-19, monkeypox, dengue and rheumatic fever together with mitigating those, will be available.

Prof Golam Sabbir told the seminar that the university authority will extend its all out support to the teachers and researchers who will conduct research in these fields.

He also said emphasis should be given on research for transforming Bangladesh into Smart Bangladesh envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by 2041.
