DHAKA, Aug 13, 2023 (BSS) - Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasod) President Hasanul Haque Inu, MP, today said evil forces in the name of the one-point movement are hatching conspiracy to foil the next general polls.
"Currently, it is our duty to prevent the conspiracy of the BNP, the accomplices of the murderers of '71 and '75 who are trying to grab state power illegally, and ensure timely elections as per the Constitution," he told a discussion organised by Jasod at Colonel Taher Auditorium at the party's central office here, marking the National Mourning Day.
He said founder of BNP General Ziaur Rahman with his activities had proved that he was the protector and mentor of Bangabandhu's murderers, including Khandaker Mostaq Ahmad.
Ziaur Rahman had spread the poison of communalism in the state and society by stopping the Bangabandhu's murderers' trial, annulling four principles from the Constitution and bringing up the infamous bi-ethnicity in Bangladesh, Inu mentioned.
He said the killers imposed a ban even on uttering the name of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as they wanted to erase the name of Bangabandhu, freedom struggle and Liberation War forever.
"They pushed Bangladesh towards the path of Pakistan by reinstating the anti-independence pro-Pakistani Razakar and Al-Badr, the eternal enemy of the Bangladesh state, in society as well as in state-politics," he added.
Inu, also the former information minister, said, unfortunately, the BNP is still cherishing the pro-Pakistani ideology that belonged to the murderers, Mostaq-Zia.
Jasod General Secretary Shirin Akhter, MP, Vice President Valiant Freedom Fighter Md Shahidul Islam, Valiant Freedom Fighter Shafi Uddin Molla, Joint General Secretary Shawkat Raihan, Jasod joint General Secretary Roknuzzaman Rokan, party leaders - Mohammad Mohsin and Md Nurunnabi also spoke on the occasion.
Coordinator of Jasod Dhaka City unit, Mir Hossain Akhter presided over the discussion.
At the very outset of the discussion, Jasod's central executive committee and it's affiliated other front organizations paid tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait there.
