PM's leadership takes country forward successfully: Shahriar

RAJSHAHI, Aug 19, 2023 (BSS) - State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, has said the prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been contributing a lot to taking the country forward benefitting its people enormously.

He also said the role of the Prime Minister has become indispensable for the success of the government, development activities and women development as a whole.

The state minister made the observation while inaugurating Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib Library in Arani Piadapara area under Bagha Upazila in the district today as chief guest.

With Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sharmin Akter in the chair, the ceremony was addressed, among others, by former additional secretary to the ministry of cultural affairs Shafiqul Islam and Secondary Education Officer AFM Hassan.

Shahriar said the newly established library will not only remain open for the students but also all others irrespective of ages.

People can read books here and the library will be the centre of intelligence-based interaction, he expected.

Illustrating the life, works and contribution to the nation of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, he said Fazilatunnesa Mujib was not only the wife of Father of the Nation but also one of the pioneers of the Bangalee's struggle for freedom.

He said Bangamata had also played a significant role from behind the scene in Bangabandhu's historic 7th March speech.

With her inspiration, the unwritten speech Bangabandhu had delivered emitting from his heart was the call for independence, he added.

During the Liberation War in 1971, Bangamata had faced the situation with patience, courage and wisdom when her husband remained imprisoned in Pakistan.

After the independence, Bangamata devoted herself to rebuilding the war-ravaged country.

She stood beside the violated, repressed and self-sacrificing women and sisters by ensuring their treatment, sympathizing and extending cooperation to them and took initiative to make them socially established, Alam added.
