DHAKA, Aug 20, 2023 (BSS)-State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said it is necessary to inspire the young generation with the ideals of Bangabandhu to build a developed and prosperous Bangladesh.
“If the young generation can be made skilled and competent, Bangladesh will soon become a prosperous one. They would be developed as skilled to build the fourth industrial revolution and ‘Smart Bangladesh’, he added.
Addressing a discussion on the biography of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of National Mourning Day-2023, Nasrul Hamid said that Bangabandhu laid the foundation for building a hunger-poverty-free Sonar Bangla within a very short time.
Bangladesh Power Development Board organized the discussion virtually with its chairman Md Mahbubur Rahman in the chair.
The state minister said with the killing of Bangabandhu and most of his family members on August 15, 1975, all the development activities came to a halt.
He said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given a programme to build a smart Bangladesh, adding, “To implement it, we have to contribute more from our respective positions with the ideology of soldiers of Bangabandhu.”
Professor of Dhaka University Dr Mizanur Rahman delivered his speech as the main discussant.
Senior Secretary of the Power Division Md Habibur Rahman and member of Bangladesh Power Development Board Mahmudul Kabir Murad spoke among others.
