CHATTOGRAM, Aug 20, 2023 (BSS) - Three female dengue patients died and a total of 103 were hospitalized at various hospitals in Chattogram in the last 24 hours.

The dengue control room of the district civil surgeon's office said this afternoon that a total of 103 dengue patients were hospitalized at various hospitals in Chattogram today.

The three women who died of dengue are Nasrin Akter, 37, Rumana Akter, 24 and Raj Lakshmi Sharma, 59.

Of the total 103 patients, 75 were admitted in government hospitals and 28 in private hospitals.

Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Iliyas Chowdhury said a total of 4,611 dengue patients have been detected in Chattogram in the last seven months till August 20 this year and the number of deaths has reached 44 in Chattogram this year.

Of them 2,786 dengue patients were admitted to government hospitals and 1,825 have received treatment in private hospitals.

A total of 4394 dengue patients have recovered and returned to their respective residence, the sources added.
