Dedicated course for 'Development’ held at Dhaka University

DHAKA, Aug 27, 2023 (BSS) - A dedicated course for development titled
'Development in Practice' was conducted at Dhaka University campus with an
aim to increase the skills of employees working in the country's development
sector.

Dhaka University Department of Development Studies and social organisation
Friendship jointly arranged the course which was ended today by a closing
ceremony at university's Professor Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury auditorium.

DU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman addressed the closing ceremony as
the chief guest while Friendship founder Runa Khan, Chair of Friendship
Luxembourg and co-chair of Friendship International Marc Elvinger, Dean of DU
Social Sciences faculty Dr Zia Rahman and chairperson of Development Studies
department Rashed Al Mahmoud Titumir as special guests.

A total of 25 students, working in banks, financial institutions, various
government, private and international organisations participated in the
course launched for the first time.

Dr Akhtaruzzaman said the curriculum of the summer school program is very
contemporary and field appropriate. Students from various sectors who
contribute to the country's development sectors got the opportunity to gain
knowledge about the development activities for marginalized communities
through this course, combining theory and practice, he added.

Head of Friendship Education Brig. Gen (Retd.) Ilyas Iftekhar Rasul, head of
Inclusive Citizenship barrister Ayesha Taasin Khan and head of Communication
Tanjina Sharmin were also present on the occasion.
