IGP pays tributes to Bangabandhu at Tungipara

TUNGIPARA, Gopalganj, Sept 4, 2023 (BSS) - Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun today paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

After laying the wreath, the IGP stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.

Later, he offered doa seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975.

 

A special prayer was also offered wishing for longevity of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

 He also signed the visitors' book at the Tungipara Mausoleum Complex.

Special Branch (SB) of Bangladesh Police Chief Monirul Islam, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Dhaka Range Syed Nurul Islam, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Barishal Range Jamil Hasan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Khulna Range Moinul Haque, Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mozammel Haque, Gopalganj Police Superintendent Al-Beli Afifa, Tungipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Al Mamun, Municipal Mayor Sheikh Tozammel Haque Tutul, Municipal Awami League President Sheikh Saiful Islam, among others, were present.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun has been elevated to the rank of Senior Secretary. The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Sunday amending his contractual terms and conditions.
