KHULNA, Sept 17, 2023 (BSS) – Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque here today said local government institutions are working tirelessly to provide better civic services at the doorsteps of people.
 
“The bond between the local government and mass people will be strengthened and service delivery will become easy and hassle-free,” the Mayor said this while speaking at a discussion meeting at the City’s Shaheed Hadis Park as the chief guest. 
 
KCC organized the meeting marking the National Local Government Day-2023 with KCC Chief Executive Officer Laskar Tazul Islam in the chair.
 
Though the 3-day long  National Local Government Day-2023 began on Sept 14   for the first time in the country    with the theme ‘Efficient Architect of Service and Improvement, Local Government in Development-Innovation’ but 

KCC Mayor inaugurated the 3 –day long National Local Government Day-2023 Development Fair at the Park premises today.  
 
Khulna divisional Commissioner Md Helal Mahmud Sharif, Khulna Metropolitan Police(KMP) Commissioner Md Mozammel Haque, Deputy Inspector General of Police in Khulna Range Moenul Haque, Managing Director of Khulna WASA Md Abdullah, Superintendent of Police Md Sayedur Rahman and General Secretary of city unit Awami League MDA Babul Rana addressed as special guests.

A total of 15 service stalls on different local government institutions participated in the fair.
 
Earlier, KCC brought out a colourful rally   from City’s Shibbari intersection and it culminated at  Shaheed Hadis Park after parading  Khulna-Jashore road. 

Government officials, employees, elite and representatives  of different organizations took part in the rally.
