DHAKA, Sept 27, 2023 (BSS) - The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Planning under the 11th Jatiya Sangsad today held its 26th meeting at the Sangsad Bhaban in the capital.
Committee chairman Abul Kalam Azad presided over the meeting while its member Hafiz Ahmed Mazumder, Biren Sikder and Adiba Anjum Mita attended the meeting. State Minister for Planning Dr Shamsul Alam attended the meeting upon special request from the committee chairman, said a press release.
The meeting was discussed in details about the financial progress and physical progress of the projects being implemented under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
The standing committee in the meeting suggested speedily implementing the unfinished tasks of the projects under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
The committee recommended speedily disposing of the cases under the Law and Justice Division and thus reducing the sufferings of the commoners.
The release said the committee also suggested the Ministry of Law to enhance the use of Bengali language in making arguments at both the lower court and Supreme Court, writing verdicts and writing books on law.
At the very outset of the meeting, deep homage was paid to the memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other martyrs of the August 15 carnage. A munajat was also offered.
Secretaries to the concerned ministries and divisions and other high officials were present on the occasion.
