TUNGIPARA, Gopalganj, Sept 28, 2023 (BSS) - Newly appointed Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan today paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

On September 12, Justice Obaidul Hassan of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court was appointed as the 24th chief justice of the country.

After laying the wreath, the CJ stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.

Later, he offered munajat seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975.

The CJ signed the visitors' book at the Tungipara Mausoleum Complex.

Justices of both the High Court and the Appellate Division, officials, Judges of Gopalganj District and Sessions Judge Court, Magistrate of Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, among others, were present.
