DHAKA, Oct 2, 2023 (BSS)-The newly appointed Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Md Habibur Rahman today assured that the DMP Media Centre will be refurbished within three days.

He, as the new commissioner, inspected the DMP Media Centre after his maiden over press briefing and made the directives to refurbish the media centre by installing necessary equipments there.

Habibur Rahman asked the journalists how many days do you want to improve this situation? The journalists replied that they want to change the situation within seven days.

In view of this, the new commissioner assured that the seating arrangement of the journalists will be changed within three days instead of seven days.

He immediately called the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Media and DC Logistics and ordered them to install an AC, two new updated computers, new sofas and table chairs to refurnish the media centre.

“The role of the journalists is necessary to build up awareness to curb crimes. The Crime Reporters would have to come to the DMP for professional purposes. They will have to access to the media centre but the atmosphere of the media centre must be journalists friendly,” he added.

Earlier, Dr Benazir Ahmed's tenure two computers, sofas and air conditioners were set up at the media centre for the working of journalists, especially those who were engaged in DMP related news, but during the last 10 years, the media centre was become dilapidated due to lake of proper initiatives.
