DHAKA, Oct 13, 2023 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three members of a fraud gang and its mastermind from city`s Santinagar area yesterday evening. 

The arrested were identified as Khorshed Alam, 52, Zuel Rana Mazumder, 40, and Masum Ahmed, 35. All of them hailed from Comilla and Narayanganj District. 

Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of the Legal and Media Wing of RAB said at a press conference at Kawran Bazar today. 

During the drive, RAB also rescued abducted Sayed Ali Mondal from city`s Santinagar area and recovered huge amount of gold, laptop and mobile phone worth around Taka 60 lakh from their possession. 

RAB said the fraud gang has long been involved in taking hostage and kidnapping expatriates relatives and money extortion. 

Legal action has been taken against them, RAB sources said.
