DHAKA, Oct 15, 2023 (BSS) - A Swechhasebak league worker of Mirpur ward no.
10 was stabbed to death by some unidentified miscreants around 10:20pm on
Saturday near Darus Salam area in the capital.

The deceased was identified as M. Shah Alam, 31, son of freedom fighter M.
Syed Ali, a resident of Lalkuthi area in Mirpur. He was a grassroot-level
worker of Swechhasebak league and a president aspirant of Mirpur-10
Swechhasebak league unit.

Family sources said, on his way home after work on Saturday night, a group of
unidentified miscreants attacked Alam and his friends near the Martyred
Intellectuals Graveyard area with sharp weapons, leaving them injured.

The wounded were taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital in the capital. But
later, Alam was shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) as his
condition deteriorated. He eventually succumbed at the DMCH to his injuries.

DMCH Police Camp Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Bacchu Mia confirmed the incident
to BSS saying: "The victim was brought here in the midnight in a serious
condition. He was declared to be dead by 12:45am by the duty doctors."

He also said that the body has been kept at the morgue.
