PIROJPUR, Oct 15, 2023 (BSS) -Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim today said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the last resort of the insolvent, destitute and helpless men and women in the country.

"Like a mother, she (the premier) loves every person of the country and shares their happiness and sorrow," he said.

The minister said these while virtually addressing a cheque distribution ceremony at the Shaheed Abdur Razzaq-Saif Mizan Memorial Auditorium of Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner's office as the chief guest.

In the ceremony, a total of Taka 50,000 was donated to the patients of cancer, kidney, liver cirrhosis, stroke, paralyzed, inborn heart disease and thalassemia.

With the thought 'Not even a single person should be deprived of medical care', Rezaul said, the premier started a financial assistance programme to provide good treatment to poor patients.
With Additional Deputy Commissioner Aminur Rahman in the chair, the cheque distribution ceremony was attended, among others, by Additional Superintendent of Police Mukit Hasan Khan, Deputy Director of District Social Services Office Md Iqbal Kabir, Assistant Director Ibrahim Khalil and district level government officials and 136 patients and their relatives.
