DHAKA, Oct 21, 2023 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Patuakhali-1 constituency lawmaker and former state minister for religious affairs Advocate Md Shahjahan Mia.
 
In a message of condolence, the minister said Shahjahan, who was former president of Patuakhali district unit Awami League and elected as lawmaker for three times, will ever be remembered for his outstanding contribution to the country and the society.
 
Dr Hasan prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
 
Shahjahan Mia died of old-age complications at a hospital in the city early today.

He was 83.
