KHULNA, Oct 21, 2023 (BSS) - Deputy Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Begum Habibun Nahar on Friday inaugurated 'Kalabogi Eco-Tourism Center' in Sundarbans under Khulna Range.

The deputy minister opened the tourism centre by unveiling its plague and offered a munajat on the occasion.

Md. Aktaruzzaman Babu, MP, project director of Sundarbans Eco-tourism and conservator of forest of Khulna Mihir Kumar Doe, Khulna divisional forest officer Dr. Abu Naser Mohsin Hossain, among others, were present.

Besides, the deputy minister also inaugurated the newly built Hayat Ali camp office-cum-barrack at Baniakhali Station under Khulna range.

Later, the minister attended a tiger conservation awareness meeting with tiger response committee and stake holders as the chief guest, organised by West division of Forest.

The chief guest said the coastal areas will be alive, if we keep Sundarbans alive. Terming Sundarbans as like our mother, she said the livelihood of people of the coastal areas, and biodiversity mostly depend on Sundarbans.

Khulna Divisional Forest Officer Dr. Abu Naser Md Mohsin Hossain delivered the welcome speech with conservator of the forest Mihir Kumar Doe in the chair.
