DHAKA, Oct 22, 2023 (BSS) - A delegation of Global Institute for Food Security (GIFS) at the University of Saskatchewan from Canada headed by acting High Commissioner of Canada in Bangladesh Ms. Debra Boyce today visited Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) headquarter in Gazipur.
 
BRRI Director General Dr. Md. Shahjahan Kabir offered a welcome to the delegation team at the Institute and briefed about its main features.
 
He also discussed ways and means to collaboration between BRRI and GIFS in an opinion exchange meeting held on the occasion.
 
Head of the Plant Breeding Division Dr. Khandakar Md. Iftekharuddaula delivered a presentation focusing on the major achievement and progress of the meeting.
 
BRRI Director General Dr. Md. Shahjahan Kabir presided over the opinion exchange meeting organized on the occasion while BRRI Director (Administration and Common Service) Dr. Md. Abdul Latif, Coordinator for Advanced Studies and Research (CASR) Dr. Munnujan Khanam, Kamaluddin Ahmed, Trade Commissioner, High Commission of Canada, Dr. Sreekanth Attaluri, GIFS Representative for Bangladesh, Hasan Parvez Ahmed Programmer of Saskatchewan University, Heads of BRRI research divisions and Sections were present on the occasion. Director (Research) Dr. Mohammad Khalequzzaman offered the vote of thanks on the occasion.
