DHAKA, Oct 22, 2023 (BSS) - Attorney General (AG) AM Amin Uddin today requested Chief Justice (CJ) Obaidul Hassan to take initiatives to dispose of all the pending cases quickly.

"I have requested the chief justice to take initiatives for disposing of all the pending cases, including those filed over attack on law enforcers, subversion and arson attack," the attorney general said while talking to newsmen at his office today.

The chief sate counsel said earlier he requested the chief justice to dispose of all the pending old civil, criminal cases and writs on priority basis.

"Prime Minister (Sheikh Hasina) asked me about quick disposal of subversion cases, yesterday. I will again request the chief justice about quick disposal of all the pending cases," he added.

The attorney general also said the public prosecutors have to take steps to ensure the presence of witnesses at courts for ensuring the quick disposal of cases.
