KHULNA, Oct 22, 2023(BSS) - Election Commissioner Brigadier General (retd) Md Ahsan Habib Khan here today said those who have no confidence in present Election Commission (EC) are wearing coloured glasses.

"They will have confidence in the current EC if they have clear vision," he made the remark at a press briefing after completing a preparedness meeting with upazila level election officials at Khulna Election Commission office.

The election commissioner said the EC has no lack of transparency and sincerity in holding free, fair and credible elections.

 He, however, said, according to the constitution, the EC is ready to conduct the upcoming election in a fair and impartial manner. Therefore, the upcoming election will be festive and enthusiastic.

"Besides, we have been asking all political parties for the last two years to ensure everyone's participation. So, we will try our best to make a successful election," Ahsan Habib added. 

Khulna regional election commissioner Md Humayun Kabir and district election commissioner Benzir Ahmed Farazi, among others, was present during the briefing.
