NAOGAON, Oct 23, 2023 (BSS) - Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder today said that if anyone obstructs the non-communal movement of Bangladesh, the people of the country will resist it.

The minister said this comment in reply to questions of journalists after visiting the Puja mandap in Shibpur Barwari Durga Mandir premises of Naogaon Niamatpur Upazila on Monday morning, said a press release here.

"This year, Durga Puja is being held peacefully across the country" he added.

The minister also said Bangladesh is a non-communal country. There is no place for communalism here. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman spoke about a non-communal country in the constitution and we fought the liberation war with this spirit in mind.

"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has built Bangladesh as a non-communal country by following the constitution. According to the constitution, all people will live together in this country," he said.

The minister urged the people to continue the trend of development by strengthening the hand of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through voting on the boat again in the next election.

 Later, the minister distributed sarees and lungis among the poor people at the mandir.
