DHAKA, Oct 25, 2023 (BSS) - State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak met former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK) Tony Blair on the sideline of the Tech Accelerator Programme-2023 held in Brussels, Belgium.
The ICT state minister met Tony Blair on Tuesday after the session 'Harnessing the Technology Revolution: A New Vision for the State' of the event and discussed improving people's living standards utilizing technologies, said a press release received here today.
'Tony Blair Institute for Global Change' founded by Tony Blair himself, organized the Tech Accelerator Programme-2023 in Brussels.
At the meeting, Tony Blair emphasized investing in digital infrastructure, supporting innovation, and regulating and managing technology appropriately, the release said.
Tony Blair expressed his firm commitment to harnessing the power of technology to make the world a better place to live, the release added.
"Our aim is to work together to ensure zero digital divide," Palak said at the meeting and highlighted the country's outline of building 'Smart Bangladesh' by 2041, announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He said the government is working on four pillars- 'Smart Citizen', 'Smart Government', 'Smart Economy' and 'Smart Society' to build the 'Smart Bangladesh'.
Later, Palak joined the dinner hosted by Tony Blair Institute.
