DHAKA, Oct 29, 2023 (BSS) - Leaders of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) today protested vehemently Saturday's attack on Chief Justice's (CJ's) official residence, saying it is an attack on the judiciary itself.
"The first attack took place in 1971 on Rajarbagh Police Lines. The defeated force of 1971 yesterday carried out attacks on Chief Justice's Residence, Rajarbagh Police Central Hospital and journalists. Chief justice is an institution. Attack on his residence is like an attack on the judiciary," SC Bar Association President Md Momtazuddin Fakir said at a protest rally organized by the association.

"They killed a policeman and later tried to torch his body. It was a heinous crime; it was a crime against humanity. The Supreme Court had declared the grabbing of power by Ziaur Rahman, illegal. That is why they carried out an attack on the judiciary," the attorney general further said.
Terming Saturday's attack on chief justice's residence and hospital, unprecedented, SCBA secretary Md Abdun Nur Dulal too demanded to bring the all the people involved in those barbaric attacks, to justice.
