JASOD for facing arson terrorists politically

DHAKA, Oct 29, 2023 (BSS) - Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASAD) today strongly condemned the atrocities carried out by BNP-Jamaat supporters in the city on Saturday during the grand rally of BNP and said arsonists must be dealt politically to hold the upcoming parliamentary polls in time as per the constitution.

The party leaders said BNP-Jamaat's falsehood was exposed yesterday. Their (BNP-Jamaat) main objective is not for holding fair elections rather to foil the polls by creating abnormal situation in the country following the way of fire terrorism, violence, sabotage and insurgency and bring unusual and unconstitutional government, they added.

The JASOD leaders made the remarks at a brief rally in front its party office after holding a procession protesting killing a police-man, launching attack on law enforcement agency members and journalists, setting fire on police hospital and vandalism at Chief Justice's residence, Judges Complex and Diploma Engineers' Institution, said a press release here.

The people of Bangladesh will never allow BNP-Jamaat and their political allies to succeed to attain their goals, they said, adding, terrorist BNP-Jamaat must be suppressed to hold elections on time.

JASOD Vice-President valiant Freedom Fighter Shafi Uddin Mollah presided over the rally while JASOD Joint General Secretary Mohammad Mohsin, Jatiya Sramik Jote, Bangladesh, President valiant freedom fighter Saifuzzaman Badsha and JASOD Office Secretary Sajjad Hossain and Local Government Affairs Secretary Sheikh Obaidul Sultan Bablu spoke at the rally, among others.

Earlier, the procession was brought out from the JASOD office premises and it was terminated at same venue after parading different city streets, including Bangabandhu Avenue, Purana Paltan, Jatiya Press Club and Topkhana thoroughfares.

Meanwhile, 'Sammilito Sangskritik Jote' and 13 other cultural organizations today issued a joint statement condemning the incidents of killing police-man and a labourer, launching attack on journalists, setting fire on police hospital and ambulances, vandalism at Chief Justice's residence and setting public transport on fire carried out by BNP-Jamaat supporters across the country in the name of movement.

Everyone has the right to hold meetings, rallies and movements peacefully, the statement said, adding, but no one has the right to create terrorism, anarchy and instability as well as killing people.

The leaders of the cultural organizations urged the countrymen to remain united to foil the conspiracies of the anti-democratic and anti-liberation forces.

The organizations included: Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation, Jatiya Kabita Parishad, Bangladesh Abritti Samanny Parishad, Bangladesh Pathanatok Parishad, Bangladesh Gana Sangeet Samanny Parishad, Bangladesh Nritya Shilpi Sangstha, Bangladesh Charo Shilpi Sangsad, Bangladesh Jatra Shilpa Unnayan Parishad, Abhinoy Shilpi Sangha, Bangladesh Gram Theatre, Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote, Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samanny Parishad and Bangladesh Shishu Sangathan Oikya Jote.
