None is spared from BNP's mayhem: Hasan

DHAKA, Oct 31, 2023 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today said none even journalists, police and common people is spared from the BNP's mayhem as they have become more worse than thieves and dacoits.

"In fact, BNP-Jamaat called the blockade with evil intention of spreading anarchy and violence across the country and they put their arsonists in the field. No transports including ambulances, public buses and vehicles of common people is spared from the arsonists," he told reporters at his official residence in city's Mintu Road this evening.

Dr Hasan said BNP is no more a political party. It becomes a terrorist and miscreant organization, he added.

Urging the countrymen to resist the terrorists, he said the government is determined to resist the miscreants. Every terrorists and miscreants will be brought to book, he added.

About a statement of Amnesty International, the information minister ruled out the statement as it is one-sided, saying BNP attacked on police while a policeman was killed and about 100 policemen were injured.

Besides, about 30 Ansar men and a number of journalists were injured in the attacks carried out by BNP, he added.

But, he said, the organization remained silent in this issue and didn't give any statement against their (BNP) terror acts. Even, Reporters' Without Border, an international organization of journalists, and other organizations who sell statement didn't give any statement, said Hasan Mahmud.

He said the Amnesty International has turned into one-sided biased organization as it has lost its credibility long day ago.

Earlier, the information minister virtually addressed a meeting of beneficiaries organized by Awami League Pomra Union unit of Ranguniya upazila of the district held at a community center of Ranguniya.

In the meeting, Dr Hasan said those who killed people and burnt down transports have no room in Ranguniya.
