AL brings out protest processions in city against 3-day blockade

DHAKA, Nov 1, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies today 
brought out protest processions and rallies in different areas in the city 
against the BNP-Jamaat's 72-hour blockade, terror and sabotage activities. 

Earlier, AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul 
Quader had earlier urged the party leaders and activists to hold peaceful 
programmes against the three-day nationwide blockade enforced by the BNP and 
Jamaat. Quader said ,AL leaders and 
activists will resist any kind of sabotage activities of the BNP-Jamaat. 

The AL Senior leaders are staying alert against BNP's blockade programme at 
the central office of AL at Bangabandhu Avenue and AL President Sheikh 
Hasina's political office at Dhanmondi. 

The AL leaders and actives were remaining alert in city`s entrances on second day amid the ongoing BNP-Jamaat`s 72-hour blockade.  

Dhaka City South AL and Awami Jubo League brought out protest processions in 
the city's Bangabandhu Avenue which paraded different city streets and Jubo League brought out protest rally in city`s Badda its 
chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash attended the protest procession while its general secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil participated in the programme in Gabtoli area. 

Dhaka 
City North Unit AL brought out another protest procession in the city's 
Mirpur area. 


 Swechchhasebak League leaders and activists, led by its president Gazi Mesbahul Hossain Sachu and general secretary Afzalur Rahman Babu, brought out a protest procession in city`s Bangabandhu Avenue.
 Awami Swechchhasebak League also brought out another procession 
in the city's Jatrabari area. 

Besides, the AL leaders and activists and its associate bodies held protest 
processions in different areas including Hazaribugh, Lalbagh, Old Dhaka, 
Farmgate, Uttara, Mirpur, Gabtoli, Malibagh, Jatrabari, Azimpur, Shahbagh,Demra, Sultana Kamal Bridge, Amin Bazar, Babu Bazar, Abdullahpur, Singh Board  and Gabtoli area in  the capital. 
 

Awami League, Dhaka city south and north unit of AL, Jubo League, Chhatra 
League, Swechchhasebak League, Mohila Awami League, Jubo Mohila League, 
Krishak League, Tati League and Awami Ainjibi Parishad as well as different 
wards, Thanas AL leaders and workers brought out the protest rallies in the 
city. 

Dhaka City South AL President Abu Ahmed Mannafi and its General Secretary 
Humayun Kabir, AL deputy Publicity and Publication secretary Aminul Islam 
Amin, Dhaka city south AL Joint General Secretarie Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi, Jubo 
Mohila League's former President Nazma Akhter, among others, were present at 
Bangabandhu Avenue. 

AL Dhaka city north unit President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and its General 
Secretary S.M. Mannan Kochi with other leaders and activists were also 
present in Mirpur area of the city.
