RAJSHAHI, November 5, 2023 (BSS)- Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) is intended to constitute industrial advisory panels in each of its institutes and departments.
Main thrust of the upcoming initiative is to generate engineers to be appropriated for Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
Vice-chancellor (VC) of the university Prof Jahangir Alam revealed this while addressing a seminar on the issue organized by Institutional Assurance Cell (IQAC) at its conference hall today as chief guest. IQAC Director Prof Imdadul Haque presided over the seminar.
VC Prof Jahangir Alam has said the government has adopted a long-term plan for the country's balanced development and made it integrated to the 4IR. "Already, many of the developments have become visible," he added.
He also said Smart Bangladesh is being implemented from digital Bangladesh under the prudent and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. As a result, Bangladesh will be elevated to the line of the developed countries by 2041.
Progress along this line is crucial for Bangladesh to increase the total factor productivity and drive economic growth for meeting up its goals targeting by 2030 and 2041.
Prof Alam told the audience that Bangladesh's economic success over the last a decade has been quite impressive. The commercialization of low skilled labor has been at the core of this success.
The engagement of low skilled labor into the productive activities has not only accelerated economic growth but also increased the financial resources at the bottom of the pyramid.
