DHAKA, Nov 9, 2023 (BSS) - Police arrested two leaders of Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal, a voluntary wing of BNP, while they were trying to set fire on a vehicle in the city's Maghbazar area this afternoon.

The arrestees are Swechchhasebak Dal's Hatirjheel Thana unit joint convener Ebadul Byapari, 38, and the unit's member Sabuj Mia, 28.

 Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Tejgaon Industrial Zone additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Hafiz Al Faruk told BSS that petro-bomb making materials-two bottles of petrol, one fire box and a old clothe were seized from their possession.

The arrestees are being interrogated as details will be disclosed later, he said.

A passenger bus was torched in Shahjadpur area around 2.30pm today on the second (last) day of the third round of blockade called by BNP.

Two units of Baridhara fire service doused the fire.
