NEW DELHI, Nov 11, 2023 (BSS) - India has appointed Rajesh Uike, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), as its next Ambassador to Tajikistan.

He is expected to take up his new assignment shortly, a MEA notification said here recently.

During his career in Indian foreign ministry, he served as Counsellor (Political and Information) at Indian High Commission in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 2015-2019 and Deputy Chief of Mission (MCM) in Indian Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam from 2019-2020.  

Hailing from the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, Rajesh did his masters from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi and joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 2006.
