NAOGAON, Nov 11, 2023 (BSS) - Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken various steps to streamline and develop the madrasah education system.
He said this while addressing the inauguration programme of the four-storey academic building of Niamatpur Islamia Alim Madrasah in the district as the chief guest, an official release said.
"The Awami League (AL)-led government has established model mosques and cultural centers in each upazila. The importance of the promotion and spread of Islam is very significant. There is no mosque where government grants have not reached," he said.
Addressing the madrasah teachers, he said apart from the education of patriotism, they should be educated in ethics to become a real patriotic individuals as well as the worthy citizens.
"Islamic values should be taught along with modern education," he added.
Recalling the role of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for Islam, he mentioned that Bangabandhu had established the Islamic Foundation for the spread of Islam in Bangladesh.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Imtiaz Morshed, Upazila Parishad Chairman Farid Ahmed, Upazila Awami League President Alhaj Abul Kalam Azad, General Secretary Zahid Hasan Biplab and District Awami League's Agricultural Affairs Secretary Abed Hossain Milon were present, among others, on the occasion with Niamatpur Islamia Alim Madrasha Managing Committee President Sarkar Kamal Uddin in the chair.
