DHAKA, Nov 15, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League (AL), its associates bodies and different organizations brought out joyous processions welcoming polls schedule of the 12th national parliamentary election in various areas in the city tonight.
The processions paraded different streets in the city.
After announcement of polls schedule, Awami League, Jubo League, Dhaka city south and north units of AL, Swechchhasebak League, Krishok League, Chhatra League, Mohila Awami League, Jatiya Sramik League, Jubo Mohila League, Bangladesh Nationalist Front (BNF) as well as 27 no ward unit of AL led by Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal brought out joy processions.
Led by Dhaka city south unit of AL President Abu Ahmed Mannafi and its General Secretary Humayun Kabir, a procession was brought out from the party central office on Bangabandhu Avenue here.
Dhaka north city AL brought out procession at Mohammadpur Town Hall led by its President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and its General Secretary SM Mannan Kochi.
Jubo League also brought out joy-procession in Farmgat area led by its Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and its General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil.
Swechchhasebak League, Krishok League, Chhatra League, Mohila Awami League, Jatiya Saramik League and Jubo Mohila League brought out joyous processions from Bangabandhu Avenue which later paraded city's different streets.
Awami League also brought out joyous processions in Chattogram, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Khulna, Barishal, Rangpur and Mymensingh.
Meanwhile, the main opposition in parliament Jatiya Party and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal welcomed the election schedule.
Talking to the media, JSD president Hasanul Haq Inu said the announcement of the schedule is a firm step to maintain the continuation of the Constitution.
