TANGAIL, Nov 16, 2023 (BSS) - Miscreants set fire to a commuter train standing at Tangail railway station in the early hours of today.

Two bogies of the commuter train were completely damaged in the fire.

Gharinda Railway Station Master Tariqul Islam said that it could not be known who set fire to the train at night around 3am. Two compartments of the commuter train were completely burnt. Another compartment was also partially burnt.

Later, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.

Tariqul Islam said, although there are CCTV cameras at Gharinda railway station, the compartments of the train where the incident took place, were outside the CCTV camera coverage.

The origin of the fire will be known after the investigation, he added.
