DHAKA, Nov 16, 2023 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today placed two people including Gaibandha district unit BNP president Professor Dr Syed Moydane Moinul Hasan Sadik, on different terms of remand in a case lodged under explosive substances act.

The other remanded accused is Syed Hasibur Rahman Jacky.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Asheq Imam passed the order, placing Sadik on five-day and Jacky on two-day remand in the case filed with capital's Shahjahapur Police Station.

Police filed the case on October 29 against 49 people including BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas. Another 700/800 unnamed people were made accused in the case.

According to the case documents, the accused led by Mirza Abbas started chanting anti-government slogans around 3.40 pm on October 28.

 They carried our subversive activities in Shahjahanpur area, blasting cocktails, obstructing police in conducting their duties. They even snatched weapons from policemen.
