DHAKA, Nov 19, 20232 (BSS) - Foreign minister Dr Ak Abdul Momen submitted his
nomination form for Sylhet constituency-1 to contest at the next polls with
Awami League's ticket at the party office at 23 Bangabandhu avenue in the
capital this afternoon.   

"We are committed to hold the election free and fair in a peaceful
atmosphere," he told reporters after submitting the nomination papers.

He said Awami League is an election-oriented party and believes in democracy.    

"We came to power through election ... this time we will again come to power
inshaallah through the polls," he said adding that people are beside Awami
League.

Momen, the current member of the parliament of Sylhet constituency-1, said
election festive mood is seen everywhere from town to villages after the
announcement of polls schedule.

He said Awami League is going to participant at the upcoming polls with the
commitment of implementing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasian's roadmap to make
Bangladesh poverty free by 2030.
