DHAKA, Nov 19, 2023 (BSS) - The ruling Awami League (AL) today sold as many as 1,212 nomination forms on the second day for the 12th national elections. 

Among them, 32 aspirant candidates collected the forms online, while others collected the forms from the AL's central office at Bangabandhu Avenue here, AL office sources said.

The party sold forms of Taka six crores six lakhs directly and Taka 16 lake through the online today. The cost of each nomination form was Taka 50 thousands. 

On Saturday, it sold a total of 1,074 nomination forms. On Saturday morning, AL nomination forms sale started officially at the party's central office. 

AL President Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the sale of nomination papers. 

Later, Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, a member of the AL advisory council, first collected the party nomination form on behalf of AL President Sheikh Hasina for Gopalganj-3 seat. After that, AL general secretary Obaidul Quader collected the nomination form.

AL's nomination papers can be collected and submitted every day from 10 am to 4 pm till next Tuesday (November 21).
